Michael Lemus (He/Him/His) serves as the Program Outreach and Marketing Manager at the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), the largest statewide student financial aid administration in the country. Michael has been at CSAC since 2019, starting off in the training unit, and was the organization’s previous Communications Manager. Michael now oversees the Commission’s Cash for College Program, California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP), and its various marketing strategies. As a first-generation college graduate, Michael sees the value in pursuing an education and is a former Cal Grant recipient himself. Michael has a passion for access, equity, and inclusion and has worked in higher education since 2013. Michael has experience at the California State University system, the University of California system, as well as the California Community College system and holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s degree in Higher Education, and a Community College Leadership certificate.
