Head Counselor
Mary Malloy has worked in the Fontana Unified School District for over 35 years. She began her career as a teacher but soon realized that her passion was with counseling students. In 1989 she was hired as the Indian Education Counselor for the FUSD where she worked with Native American students to increase high school graduation and academic proficiency among Native American students. In 1993 she was hired as a counselor for Fontana High School where she worked for 13 years. During her time at Fontana High School, she took on the challenge of reviving a failing AVID program to increase a-g and college entrance rates. Her efforts along with her wonderful AVID teachers grew the program ten-fold increasing a-g and college rates among first generation students. In 2005 she was hired as a counselor to help open Summit High School, where she began her push for students to complete the FAFSA. She is now lead counselor at Jurupa Hills High School where she and her colleagues have led Jurupa Hills High School into Award winning FAFSA/CADAA rates for both the 2020 and 2021 school year. Mary Malloy is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University where she earned a M.S. in Educational Counseling
