Jaclyn has experienced first-hand the transformative power of a postsecondary education and believes that education remains the cornerstone in the fight for social justice. A Bay Area native, the daughter of immigrant parents, and the first in her family to graduate from college, Jaclyn has committed her career on issues that help build equitable communities and opportunity. As uAspire's chief executive officer, Jaclyn’s core responsibilities are strategic leadership and governance, organizational and people management, external relations, and fundraising. Prior to joining uAspire, Jaclyn worked at Bay Area Legal Aid for 14 years where she was responsible for a $16 million revenue portfolio and advancing their mission through sustainable resource alignment. Jaclyn is a Bay Area native, the daughter of two immigrant parents, and the first in her family to graduate from college. Jaclyn earned her BS in international business and a minor in Spanish from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and studied and lived in Puebla, Mexico. She lives in Oakland, CA with her husband and two children and serves as a member of the Rivet School Board of Directors.
