Drawing on almost 20 years of experience in higher education and in education justice nonprofits, Eve Shapiro is responsible for ensuring that the implementation of Beyond 12’s mission at all levels of the ecosystem is guided by a robust body of empirical and experiential knowledge. She is passionate about using the best data, research, and programmatic practices to address structural inequalities in postsecondary education and close the opportunity and outcomes gaps endemic in higher education. Eve received her B.A. from Indiana University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a focus on social inequalities, psychosocial wellbeing, and social change.
