Javier Argüello is the manager over the Institutional Support Unit at the California Student Aid Commission. He began his career in higher education while at UCLA, working as a peer mentor for a student-initiated, student-run retention program. He has also worked as an Admissions Counselor for Sacramento State University and is entering his 12th year in financial aid, having worked at a private college and a CA community college as a financial aid officer. Like most people in financial aid, Javier enjoys working in financial aid due to the constant change, the continuous learning opportunities, the fast-paced environment and knowing that your work is making a positive impact in the lives of students and families.
